Summary: After graduating from high school, Scotty's (Scott Mechlowicz) girlfriend breaks up with him. This prompts him to travel to Europe to search for his pen-pal, whom he recently discovered is not a guy but a very hot girl. Scotty's three friends tag along for an incredible and hilarious trip.
Review:
Tim: Eurotrip is not much more than your typical teen sex comedy. Think of the many films in this genre of movie. The only difference here is that the plot has been transported to Europe. The same jokes and gags are present, just in a different location.
This film isn't incredibly funny or entertaining. A proper description would be, "mildly amusing." It is this mild amusement that carries you throughout the film and is the only thing stopping you from getting up and walking away.
There are some funny parts to the movie, but not involving the main plot or the main characters. Vinnie Jones is hilarious in a small role. Matt Damon makes an incredible cameo singing "Scotty Doesn't Know," which is a great song and so catchy that you will be singing in days after seeing this movie. This was the highlight of the film for me.
Eurotrip is too similar to every other teen sex comedy out there. You would be much better off going with the American Pie trilogy or a more classic fare like Fast Times at Ridgemont High. However, if you insist on pursuing this film, sit back, try not to think, and you may just enjoy yourself... for some parts, but sadly, not for most.
